View the planning application

The Green Belt land between Park Lane and Barnsley Road in Upper Cumberworth is under threat from a proposed development of 123 houses. If the development goes ahead, this precious area of natural beauty and ecological diversity will be lost forever.

The Cumberworth Environmental Community Action Group has been set up to raise awareness, and to support local residents in objecting to and opposing this threat.

Our Aims & Objectives

On the 28th of June, we held a Community meeting to discuss the potential development of 123 houses by the developer Vivly Living on the Greenbelt field lying between Park Lane and Barnsley Road in Upper Cumberworth.

It was agreed that an Action Group should be set up to help residents understand the potential impact of this, or any other development. Our aims are:

  • To protect the village and environment, particularly the Ancient Woodland.
  • To understand the possible grounds for objection.
  • Provide the necessary help and support to raise an objection.
  • Provide ongoing support and updates throughout the planning application process.
